Marketing Manager

Location: Asheville, NC (with potential travel for festivals and events)
Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $57,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Job Summary:

Music Allies is seeking a creative, results-driven Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts for three music venues and assist with festival promotions. This role focuses on audience engagement, ticket sales, and brand visibility across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in event marketing, digital campaigns, and media relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to drive audience engagement and ticket sales.

  • Establish and maintain a consistent brand voice across all platforms to enhance public perception.

  • Oversee and manage content creation, ensuring high-quality, engaging materials.

  • Ensure quality control, including copy-editing, in collaboration with the Music Allies creative team.

  • Manage marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively across campaigns, partnerships, and media buys.

  • Oversee media buying, optimizing placements for maximum impact while staying within budget.

  • Serve as the primary media liaison, handling press relations, interviews, and public appearances.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, partners, and community leaders.

  • Represent the brand as the on-site marketing lead at designated events.

  • Oversee and optimize social media, email marketing, and search engine marketing to strengthen online presence.

  • Analyze and report on marketing campaign performance, adjusting strategies to maximize effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event marketing, digital strategy, and media relations.

  • Strong understanding of ticketing, audience development, and brand building in the live events industry.

  • Experience managing marketing budgets and maximizing ROI on campaigns.

  • Excellent communication and public relations skills, with media outreach and influencer engagement experience.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple events across different locations.

  • Proficiency in social media management, paid advertising, and email marketing tools.

  • Passion for live music, entertainment, and cultural events.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for festivals and venue-related events.

MARKETING Coordinator INTERNSHIP (paid)

Position Overview

This position will assist & learn about several of key areas of event management, entertainment marketing and operating a business.

Responsibilities include preparing reports and presentations, organizing client information, assisting with marketing plans, and scheduling.

Hours: 3 days a week (5 hours per day). Average 15 hours per week.

Location: Asheville, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management and play a crucial role in the conceptualization and successful implementation of marketing and management strategies.

  • Work with marketing partners encompassing festivals, concerts, marketing technology, digital advertising, social marketing, and more.

  • Craft social media campaigns, and create & post social media posts.

  • Contribute creative ideas to the team for content and campaigns, and research trends in alignment with our brands.

  • Gather information & photos and write compelling copywriting for websites, emails and presentations.

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to measure effectiveness and make data-driven decisions

  • Coordinate the creation, organization, and dissemination of marketing plans, project recaps, and marketing summaries.

  • Ensure the team is informed of meetings, calls, and deadlines, promoting timely adherence to all commitments.

  • General office and marketing support.

Required Competencies/Skills

  • Ability to handle fast-paced deadlines and manage multiple tasks with varied deadlines.

  • Must be a self-starter able to keep projects moving forward even if the team is traveling.

  • Background in marketing, social media trends and media buying is a plus.

  • Exceptional verbal & written communication.

  • A proactive problem-solving mindset.

  • Mastery of Google Docs Suite, MS Office Suite and project management software.

  • Photoshop and graphic design skills are a plus.

  • A keen interest in the entertainment industry.

Music Allies offers paid internships for students looking to gain hands-on experience in marketing and events. Our internships are designed to provide valuable industry insights while allowing students to earn both compensation and academic credit, if applicable.

We encourage students to check with their academic institution to confirm eligibility for internship credit. If required, we are happy to provide documentation and coordinate with university advisors to ensure compliance with credit requirements.Our internship program is offered during Spring, Summer and Fall sessions.
